Mary
Piano Instructor
Mary began playing piano at the age of three, inspired by her sister, who would come home from piano lessons and teach her everything she had learned. Shortly after, Mary started private lessons and continued studying through high school. Even as a young pianist, she played for church services and Sunday school, often accompanying instrumentalists and vocalists. These experiences provided her with a strong foundation in sight-reading and exposed her to various musical styles.
Mary went on to earn a degree in Piano Performance from LSU. Over the past 20 years, she has taught piano intermittently, sharing her passion and expertise with many students. Her musical journey has included performing with her own jazz group in Rochester and the surrounding areas, as well as actively participating in numerous theater productions at the Mantorville Melodrama Theatre.
Mary is a member of the Minnesota Music Teachers Association (MMTA) and the Rochester Area Keyboard Club.
